I am one week into my 21 day challenge and feeling good! It is simple really, one juice, added to my diet, every day for 21 days.
Firstly, I want to say how impressed I am with my Philips Juicer. The product is so easy to use! You simply chop your veg and feed it down the funnel and the juice is instantly made. It takes me roughly 1 minute to make a full juice using several ingredients. The only thing I would say is that there is quite a bit of wastage, especially after veggie juices, but savvy food bloggers may want to keep this to create some nice sauces or stir-ins to go with a pasta dish or some courgette ribbons.
The first week of the #RealJuiceReboot featured recipes from the lovely Madeleine Shaw. I have followed Madeleine’s website since the very beginning of my healthy eating journey, so I was thrilled to hear she was involved. Her juices included lots of juicy fruits such as watermelon and pineapple but were varied to include veggie recipes with beetroot, spinach, celery and ginger.
My fave juice from the first week was definitely Day 3 ‘Beat the Bloat’. The pineapple tasted delicious, it was zingy, fruity and a great mid-morning pick me up. It was even a big hit with my boyfriend Liam.
Towards the end of the week, I started making the juices in the morning as opposed to the evening and took them to work in a plastic Tupperware flask. The juicer makes enough for one big glass or two small glasses, so I have been drinking one at home and saving the rest for ‘breakfast’ at work.
